PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of easily switching color balances such as a white balance to accurately obtain a target color balance. SOLUTION: A dimming filter 48 is moved to a 1st dimming position on a 1st optical path when a 1st color mode of relatively low color temperature is set and to a 2nd dimming position on a 2nd optical path OP2 when a 2nd color mode of relatively high color temperature is set. Consequently, the position of the single dimming filter 48 is changed to change balances of two colors corresponding to the 1st and 2nd optical paths OP1 and OP2 at the same time.
