PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diffraction coupling lens for optical communication and an optical communication module capable of correcting coupling loss due to a temperature change in correspondence to two wavelengths, up light and down light, in an optical communication module. SOLUTION: The coupling lens 4 for optical communication is an optical communication module including a fixing means for fixing the end of an optical fiber 1, a semiconductor laser 5a for oscillating a laser beam of a wavelengthλ1, and a photodetector 6 for receiving light of a wavelengthλ2 different from that of the semiconductor laser from the optical fiber and is arranged between the optical fiber, the semiconductor laser and the photodetector to condense and couple the light. The lens is composed of a plastic material or material of dn/dT<-5×10<SP>-5</SP>in temperature dependency of a refractive index and is formed with a phase structure 4a having positive refracting power on at least one of its optical surfaces.
