<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink applicable to writing utensils equipped with a synthetic resin pen point, improved in pen point wettability, causing neither ink drops via a nib due to the pressure change inside the writing utensils nor handwriting bleedings, and also deteriorating no dry-up proofness at the nib. <P>SOLUTION: The water-based ink is such as to be contained in direct liquid-type writing utensils functioning to guide ink via a pen point to a nib.
