PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crossing bar breakage preventing device for a crossarm crossing gate to which a crossing bar is easily mounted. SOLUTION: The crossing bar breakage preventing device for the crossarm crossing gate comprises a fixed plate fixed to one end of a fixed cylinder to be fixed to the crossing gate, a movable plate 33 provided on one face of the fixed plate so as to be turnable and having a crossing bar holder 34 extending to the counter fixed plate side, a link mechanism connected to the fixed plate side of the movable plate 33 for elongated in the loading direction to displace the crossing bar 2 when a high load works on the crossing bar 2, a locker provided on the movable plate 33 so as to be turnable for being engaged with the fixed plate to constrain the motion of the movable plate 33. Near the opening end of the crossing bar holder 34, a guide means 37 is formed with a protruded portion 371 on which the base end 21 of the crossing bar 2 can abut. With the outer peripheral face of the crossing bar 2 abutting on the inner face of the protruded portion 371, the base end 21 of the crossing bar 2 is inserted into the opening of the crossing bar holder 34.
