PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle driven by the power of a main battery and having a DC-DC converter for charging an auxiliary battery allowing the efficient cooling of the DC-DC converter even if the air conditioner is not operated, and achieved in the reduction of the size and cost of the air conditioner. SOLUTION: This air conditioner 100 is mounted to the vehicle having the main battery 12 and the auxiliary battery 11 and includes an electric motor 30 to impart power to a scroll compressor 34 and a refrigerating cycle formed by circulating a coolant in a coolant flow passage. An inverter circuit 21 for driving the electric motor 30 by the power of the main battery 12 and a DC-DC converter circuit 22 for charging the auxiliary battery 11 by lowering a voltage of the main battery 12 are provided in an electric motor case 20 cooled by the coolant.
