PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording material manufacturing method which enables the manufacture of an image recording material having an image in a desired position without causing a position aberration when the image recording material having the image on a gold coin size recording medium. SOLUTION: The image recording material manufacturing method comprises at least the superimposition process for superimposing the support member which supports a metal plate, a transfer member having the image on one side and a recording medium so as to face the one side of the metal plate and a side which is not provided with the image of the transfer member, and face the side provided with the image of the transfer member and a recording medium surface supported by the support member; and the transfer process for transferring the image from the transfer member surface to the recording medium surface by carrying out at least one treatment selected from heat treatment and pressure treatment to the superimposed metal plate, transfer member and recording medium.
