Method and system for handling postal packages

The method involves receiving a postal item (1) having a processing history of mail received. On the surface of the mail (1) is graphical information which are sent to a processing unit (4) and stored. A record with data to identify the mail (1) is provided having a consignment number. The record with the data to identify the postal item is arranged on the surface of the postal item and covered by the graphic information on a server platform (5). The record or parts are a user (6, 10) and or a data processing unit. An independent claim is included for a system.
