This disclosure is related to a preventive monitoring and protection module for engines in vehicles, characterized by having a motherboard programmed for receiving and decoding information transmitted by sensors. This information is transmitted to a database by means of a geolocation unit with cellular communication. The module monitors parameters of the vehicle such as: engine temperature, oil pressure, antifreeze pressure, idle time, and, based on the readings obtained; makes decisions following multiple logical sequences. When the module detects critical condition parameter values and they persist for a determinate period of time, a visual and audible alert is emitted. The module performs specific actions to protect the engine and prevent creating major failures. Protective actions can vary, for example: decelerating the vehicle completely and turning off the ignition. The monitoring module has a reset button that can be pressed at any time to interrupt the logical sequences, which is useful when the vehicle should not be stopped, as can be in a curve or a slope in the highway. The module can be connected to a CAN vehicular system to expand the functionality of the device. |
