1. A method implemented by an optical modulator, the method comprising:
receiving an optical signal via an optical input port in a first direction; receiving a radio frequency (RF) input signal; modulating the optical signal using the RF input signal to generate a modulated optical signal; and transmitting the modulated optical signal via an optical output port in a second direction, wherein an angle between the first direction and the second direction is greater than 135 degrees (°).
