Hydraulically actuated valves, having a main valve part (16) and a pilot valve part (60), are actuated in that a pilot chamber (58) is optionally connected to the inlet (30) and/or to the outlet (34) of the valve (10). High-frequency vibration of the valve can be avoided by providing a damping chamber (64) between the main valve part (16) and the housing (14), the volume of which damping chamber (64) varies as a function of the movement of the main valve part (16). The damping chamber (64) is connected to the pilot chamber (58) via a damping orifice.
