PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outstanding sealing type lead storage battery which is improved in life and reliability of a cell by preventing a short circuit by a deformation of an electrode plate and omission of an active material. SOLUTION: In the lead storage battery which uses, at least as a negative electrode, an electrode plate which is produced by carrying out an expanding development processing cautiously to a sheet made from a lead or a lead alloy, punching, filling an active material, and cutting, a U-shaped holding frame surrounding a side section and a bottom of the negative electrode plate is arranged and assembled.
