<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film type solar cell for allowing sunlight to be transmitted through a light transmitting section by patterning the light transmitting section in a back electrode, increasing a light transmitting region, compared with the conventional thin-film type solar cell, and securing a visible zone that is sufficient to substitute for a glass window. <P>SOLUTION: A thin-film type solar cell includes: a substrate; front electrodes formed at predetermined intervals apart on the substrate; semiconductor layers formed apart on the front electrodes with a contact section or an isolating section interposed; and back electrodes connected with the front electrodes through the contact section and formed apart with the isolating section interposed. In order to increase a light transmitting region, the back electrodes are patterned in such a manner as to provide the light transmitting section in a predetermined part.
