<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient monitoring device for making compatible recording with short time intervals in the neighborhood of the occurrence of failure and long term loose recording with a limited memory capacity, and provide a power converting device using the monitoring device. <P>SOLUTION: This monitoring device comprises a means for receiving a plurality of status signals inputted time-sequentially from an equipment to be monitored, a storage means for storing the status signals received by the receiving means as predetermined time history data, a data compressing means for compressing the history data and a means for receiving a failure signal from the equipment to be monitored, and for reproducing the history data after the lapse of a predetermined time to prepare trend data for display. Then, the storing means includes a memory area divided into n pieces(n is an integer which is 2 or more), and the n-th memory area is made to store the history data stored in the (n-1)th memory area as history data compressed by the data compressing means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
