<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To alleviate a torque shock when a slip generated while securing running stability of a vehicle is suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: A method for controlling the vehicle includes a step of limiting a request torque requested for a driver when a slip occurs by using a torque upper limit value Tmax. Then, when the vehicle runs during predetermined steering or runs on a slope road at an extremely low speed, the vehicle judges an unstable state, and regulates a torque upper limit value Tmax by preceding rapid converging of the slip to alleviate the torque shock when the request torque is limited (S258). Meanwhile, the method includes a step of judging that the vehicle is a stable state when the vehicle runs at a low vehicle speed without steering on a flat road, and regulates a torque upper limit value Tmax by preceding the alleviation of the torque shock when the request torque is limited (S262).
