PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for using a remote controller for generating an unknown coded signal such as, for example, a key of an automobile in the other applications, for example, a door of a building, a garage door, and a parking barrier. SOLUTION: Sequence, the other data, and envelope data related to envelope of an unknown coded signal by demodulation and detection of time interval are stored in a memory. The stored envelope data is compared with envelope data of an unknown coded signal received newly, and a match signal is outputted when the stored data agrees with the newly received data.
