A multi-display method of an external input in an image display device and an apparatus thereof are provided to watch and confirm the applied input data first and then select the input data. A broadcasting signal input member(202) receives various broadcasting signals. An external signal input member(203) receives video data from an external device connected with an image display device(201) by wire or wireless. Video signal processing members(204,205) modulate the video data inputted through the broadcasting signal input member and external signal input member. The modulated signal is processed by a scaler(206) in order to be matched with a format supported by a display module.
