PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device whose performance does not deteriorate even when consecutively focusing or performing a tracking AF on a subject.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: a first focusing mode execution means (S17(C-AF/tracking AF)→S27) that repeatedly focuses on a subject; a second focusing mode execution means (S11Yes→S17→S27) that focuses on the subject only once in response to an AF start switch; a third focusing mode execution means (S21→S25→S27) that automatically focuses on an eye; and permission/prohibition means (S18 and S19) that permits/prohibits an execution of the third focusing mode execution means. When a size of a detected face is equal to or less than a prescribed value, the permission/prohibition means prohibits the execution of the third focusing mode execution means, in which the prescribed value is made different in the first focusing mode execution means and in the second focusing mode execution means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13 |
