摘要 Hybrid internal detonation-gas turbine engines incorporating detonation or pulse engine technology (such as an internal detonation engine), and methods of manufacturing and using the same are disclosed. The internal detonation engine includes a detonation chamber having a fuel igniter therein, a stator at one end of the detonation chamber having at least a first opening to receive fuel, a rotor adjacent to the stator, and an energy transfer mechanism configured to convert energy from igniting or detonating the fuel to mechanical energy. The detonation chamber and fuel igniter are configured to ignite or detonate a fuel in the detonation chamber. Either the stator or the detonation chamber has a second opening to exhaust detonation gas(es). The rotor has one or more third openings therein configured to overlap with at least the first opening as the rotor rotates.

An internal detonation engine, comprising: a) a cylinder; b) a cylinder head having a number of first openings therein configured to receive a fuel and a number of second openings therein configured to exhaust detonation gas(es); c) a fuel igniter configured to ignite or detonate the fuel in the cylinder; d) a stator at a first end of the cylinder having an upper intake chamber, a lower intake chamber, and a number of third openings therein equal to the number of first openings and a number of fourth openings therein equal to the number of second openings, the third openings overlapping with the first openings, and the fourth openings overlapping with the second openings; e) a rotor in a depression or cutout at an interface between the stator and the cylinder head, the rotor having a smooth edge and one or more fifth openings therein configured to overlap with the first, second, third and fourth openings as the rotor rotates: f) an axial shaft connected to and configured to drive the rotor, the axial shaft passing through the upper intake chamber and the lower intake chamber, and the fuel igniter being in a location other than that of the axial shaft; g) an energy transfer mechanism configured to transfer energy from igniting or detonating the fuel to mechanical energy, the energy transfer mechanism comprising a piston configured to slidably fit within the cylinder, h) a drive mechanism comprising one or more rods attached to the piston and configured to receive the mechanical energy.
