PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and an assist method capable of assisting in an appropriate composition, without compromising the degree of freedom of imaging.SOLUTION: A imaging apparatus includes an imaging lens, an imaging sensor, an image information generating section for generating the image information about the composition of an image from electric signals obtained sequentially from the imaging sensor, a composition information recording section for recording the composition information about the composition of imaging, an area information calculating section for calculating the area information representative of the feature in the split area of an image determined based on the image information and composition information, a boundary determining section for determining the situation of the boundary of an area based on the area information, a boundary image generating section for processing the image based on the determination of the boundary determining section, and an image display section for displaying the image generated in the boundary image generating section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
