An alkenyl ether polymer, the molecular weight, molecular weight distribution and composition of which are controlled by using vinyl ether having a hydroxy group, and a method for producing a polymer with which a block copolymer thereof can be obtained, are provided. Further, the polymer obtained by said method is provided as a reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer polymerizable macro chain transfer agent. By bringing about the radical polymerization of a hydroxy group-containing vinyl ether in the presence of a specific RAFT agent and a radical polymerization initiator, it is possible to impart living polymerization properties; further, by using the obtained living polymer as the reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer polymerizable macro chain transfer agent, it is possible to obtain a block copolymer also comprising another radical polymerizable vinyl monomer. |
