Disclosed are a message forwarding method and an electronic device, which fall within the technical field of computers. The method comprises: determining at least one selected chat message in a dialogue box; acquiring the message content and subsidiary information about each selected chat message; and forwarding the message content and subsidiary information about each chat message to a selected receiving end. The present invention solves the problem that when a plurality of chat messages in a dialogue box are forwarded, since all the chat messages are sent by taking a user of a sending end as a sender and the message content of the chat messages as the content, a user of a receiving end cannot distinguish whether the received messages are sent by the user of the sending end himself or are forwarded, so that the effect of ensuring that a user of a receiving end can effectively distinguish whether a received message is a forwarded message or a non-forwarded message is achieved.
