APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING A POSITION OF A MOBILE DEVICE DURING A PAYMENT PROCESS

An apparatus for determining a position of a mobile device during a payment process is proposed. The apparatus has a transmitter-receiver unit for receiving communication signals from the mobile device for the payment process, a determining unit for determining the position of the mobile device relative to a reference position based on the received communication signals for the payment process, and a processing unit for adapting the payment process on the basis of the determined position. By means of the proposed apparatus, and based on signals that are transmitted during a communication, simultaneously the position of a mobile device can be determined and the payment process can be adapted on the basis of this position. Thereby, no additional equipment related to hardware or software is required on the mobile device side in order to determine the position. Furthermore, a system having an apparatus of this type and a method for determining a position of a mobile device during a payment process are proposed.
