摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve repeating characteristics between recording and erasion and realize the execution of the stable reproduction of recording by a method wherein a phase change type recording layer is made of a mateal containing a specified amount of oxygen. SOLUTION: By including oxygen in the recording layer of a phase change type optical recording medium, by means of the change of the phase structure of the recording layer caused through the irradiation of light of which informations are recorded, reproduced and erased, a optical recording medium, in which neither separation of films nor development of cracks nor flow in the recording layer not the like as the factor for reducing the number of repetition is present, is obtained. In that case, the content of oxygen in this recording layer is set to be 1-30 atomic %. When this content is less than one atomic %, the effect for suppressing the flow of the recording layer or the like is small and no improvement of the number of repetition can be resulted. Further, when the content is more than 30 atomic %, the recording layer is too muchoxidized and stabilized to realize the stable repetition action between erasure and recording, resulting in reducing the number of repetition. Furthermore, is the content is further more than 30 atomic %, a trouble such one as no medium having a proper sensitivity and a proper reflectance is obtained is developed.
