PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high print quality, by providing a control part of a printer apparatus with a counter, calculating the number of use times of each dot means loaded at a print head, and setting for each dot means how to handle the dot means. SOLUTION: A control part B21 of a controller part B02 of a printer apparatus B01 makes a necessary instruction to a line change drive part B31 and a print head part B32 of a printer engine part B03 and stores a count of drive instructions to each dot means in a counter part B23. The control part B21 receives a print command from a host apparatus B05 via a communication control part B25, conducts a printing operation, calculates the number of use times of each dot means and stores the number in the counter part B23. The control part B21 investigates data of the number of use times of the dot means. If there is the dot means reaching a preset value of the number of use times, the control part judges the dot means as worn out and stores data indicating a number of the dot means in an EEPROM part B22. |
