摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high-sensitivity radiation detectors having superior energy resolution. <P>SOLUTION: In the radiation detector 1, scintillation light 6 is generated, when radiations 8 enter a scintillator crystal 2, and a photodetector 5 converts the scintillation light 6 into an electrical signal, thus detecting the incidence of the radiations 8. In this case, the refractive index of the scintillator crystal 2 is not less than 1.8 and the peak wavelength of the scintillation light 6 is not more than 400 nm, and the space between the scintillator crystal 2 and the photodetector 5 is filled with a first light wavelength conversion layer 4, having a refractive index of not less than 1.62. Thus, since the refractive index difference between the scintillator crystal 2 and the first light wavelength conversion layer 4 is sufficiently small, the scintillation light 6, having a specific wavelength, efficiently reaches the photodetector 5, without being reflected by the first light wavelength conversion layer 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
