PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a print of a high quality by optimizing a printing scheme according to a printing medium. SOLUTION: Characteristics of a printing medium 101 are encoded and marked as an identifier 300 in a rectangular zone 170 of a predetermined position of the medium 101. A sort 301, a maker 302, a direction (orientation) 303, a size 304 and the like are contained in the characteristics, and marked at the time of manufacturing or packaging the medium. Each printer has a sensor for detecting the marking of the medium 101 and decodes a signal from the sensor. The printer is automatically optimized by utilizing obtained information, thereby obtaining a best printing quality. |
