PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device surely detecting that a toner container is set without drastically increasing the number of parts. SOLUTION: This developing device has a developing unit 1 supplying toner to a developing sleeve 6, and a toner container 2 storing the toner, being attached to the toner replenishment port 7 of the unit 1 and performing toner replenishment, a shutter 3 provided on the port 7, and the toner is replenished by opening the shutter 3. In this case, a protruding part being a shutter moving member by which the shutter 3 is moved to open the port 7 when the container 2 is attached to the unit 1, and a sensor 8 detecting the movement of the protruding part are provided and the sensor 8 is defined as the setting detecting signal of the container 2. |
