APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TESTING TELEPHONE JACKS

The present invention relates to a method for easy testing of how jacks are interconnected in relation to a telephone line and to a simple and inexpensive apparatus for use in the method. An apparatus according to the invention is e.g. embodied as a test plug (10), which can be plugged into a first jack and which comprises indicating means (15) for indicating the presence of a voltage on terminals in said first jack and which test plug further comprises means (14) for breaking a supply of voltage from the first jack to a second jack connected in series with the first jack. According to an inventive method at least two apparatuses according to the invention are connected simultaneously to a jack each. Thereupon it is observed which apparatus is indicating the presence of a voltage. From this observation conclusions can be drawn regarding how the jacks are interconnected in relation to the telephone line.
