METHOD FOR ENGAGING AN ARMOURED TARGET AND DEVICE FOR PERFORMING SAID METHOD

The inventive method for engaging an armoured target is performed by means of cumulative munitions, allowing for an additional strike element called a beater to penetrate a space behind the armour through a hole pierced by a cumulative jet. Said strike element is made of the covering material of the cumulative munitions. A hydrodynamic accelerator of the cover is made of a material having an acoustic stiffness not less than the acoustic stiffness of the covering material and is embodied in the form of a metallic topped conic socket resting on the larger base thereof. A collar step is arranged in a ring groove of the body in the area adjacent to the base of the cumulative recess. Said collar step is made of the material having the acoustic stiffness which is not less than 4.8x10<7>kg.m<-2>.s<-1>. The inventive cascade munitions comprise at least two axisymmetric parts sequentially arranged inside the body. Each part comprises three sections, namely: a fragmentation charge provided with the cumulative recess, the cover, the hydrodynamic accelerator and the collar step; a transmissive unit, a cutter for the low-speed part of the cumulative jet and the beater.
