A method of electrodischarge wire machining for processing a workpiece (2) by an electrical discharge in a gap between a wire electrode (1a) and the workpiece (2) comprises a first machining step in a liquid (4a), a second machining step in a mist (7), and a third machining step in a gas (8). The machining steps are switched from one to another when predetermined straightness is achieved. This method provides high-productivity precision machining.
