PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining chair not to overhang rearward too much when a backrest is reclined backward without deteriorating the comfortableness to sit in. SOLUTION: The backrest 14 is supported turnably forward/rearward around a turning fulcrum shaft 13 in the left/right directions, located higher than a seat surface, and a seat 7 is rotatable forward/backward. When the upper end side of the backrest 14 is moved rearward, the seat 7 is moved forward. The backrest 14 is formed in such a shape that the center in the vertical direction of the back side projects rearward. The chair 1 has the structure composed of the above-mentioned elements.
