<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the commercial value of a digital camera by adding a snap shot photographing function with which a photographing error hardly occurs and to simplify the configuration or arithmetic processing algorithm of the digital camera. <P>SOLUTION: When an ON signal is sent from a still picture recording button 15a when recording a moving picture, a control core circuit 14 judges that still photographing for a snap shot is instructed from the outside, and the moving image under photographing at present and a still picture desired to be recorded as the snap shot are parallel displayed on a display 9. During five seconds of parallel display of the still picture, a user can confirm whether or not the desired snap shot can be photographed on the display 9.
