<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a statistics collection system and a statistics collection apparatus which is made at low cost and corresponds to a high speed circuit with statistical overall accuracy required each flow. <P>SOLUTION: A packet transfer apparatus is provided with a high speed flow table to achieve statistics collection requiring accurate statistics information, a flow table constituted of many flow entries, and a search processing determination table to decide which the high speed flow table and a big capacity flow table should be searched, and decides the table to be searched when the packet is received. The overall accuracy of the statistics information to the flow requiring the accurate statistics information is guaranteed by the high speed flow table. The statistics collection of many flow entries can be achieved without reducing packet transfer performance by properly setting the big capacity flow table, and a sampling rate to the flow to which the sampled statistics information is sufficient. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
