PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door device, for mechanically detecting an obstacle in closing a door while the need of a safety shoe is eliminated, and preventing the obstacle from being caught in the door. SOLUTION: Door panels 11a, 11b are supported by pedestals 17a, 17b in a freely openable/closable manner. A safety mechanism 20 is disposed to a part other than a doorstop part of one door panel 11a out of the door panels 11a, 11b, for example, an upper end part of the door panel 11a. The safety mechanism 20 mechanically detects an obstacle by using the door panel 11a as a safety shoe when the door is closed by a drive mechanism 12. If any obstacle is detected by the safety mechanism 20, a control device 10 controls the drive mechanism 12 to stop closing the door, and controls the drive mechanism 12 to open the door again.
