PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line patterned paper container in which stable line patterned surface effects are obtained by forming an overcoat vanish layer that does not adhere to the surface of a recess plate with a fluted line pattern on it even when heat and pressure are applied onto a printing ink layer, and by using a printing ink whose color tone does not change by heat and pressure. SOLUTION: The line patterned paper container is produced by the process in which a heated embossing recess plate (11) with the line pattern (12) on it is pressed onto a printed paper plate (15) with predetermined pressure and thus the surface of the paper plate is line patterned. In this case, a printed layer (13), such as a pattern or the like printed with a heat-resistant ink, and a layer of heat-resistant, pressure-resistant vanish (13) are formed on the surface of the paper plate.
