The assembly has a U-shaped framing element (4) pivoted on a fixed storage console (30) between a bottom position in which the element is supported on a console and a top position in which an end part opposed to a pivoting axle of the element is remote from the fixed storage console for allowing the element to maintain an object positioned on the fixed storage console. The element is extended parallel toward an upper surface of the fixed storage console in the bottom position, and forms a non-zero angle with an upper surface of the fixed storage console in the top position. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising a storage assembly.
