An optical scanning device is provided to reduce an amount of dust drifted within a body and reduce the contamination of other optical components. A light source(20) is installed at the inside of a scanning device body(10). A rotation polyhedral mirror deflection-scans the light irradiated from the light source. A driving motor rotates the rotation polyhedral mirror. A circuit substrate controls the driving of the driving motor. A cover member(60) covers the rotation polyhedral mirror. A dust collection member(70) collects the dust. The body is formed like a cabinet or a housing and mounted to the inside of an image forming device.
