PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF TYPE II DIABETES

摘要

A pharmaceutical composition for prevention and treatment of type II diabetes is provided to control expression of genes associated with glucose metabolism by activating peroxisome proliferator activated receptor gamma(PPARgamma), and increase expression of GLUT4(glucose transporter 4) protein. The pharmaceutical composition for prevention and treatment of type II diabetes comprises 20(S)-protopanaxatriol represented by the formula(1) as an effective ingredient, wherein the 20(S)-protopanaxatriol acts as a ligand of peroxisome proliferator activated receptor gamma(PPARgamma).
