A method of marking patterns on a metal object using laser, which can further simplify the process of marking the patterns and is beneficial in the environmentally friendly aspect by directly irradiating laser beams onto a surface of the metal object and marking patterns on the surface of the metal object, and allowing a hologram or color to be displayed from the marked patterns, is provided. A method of marking patterns on a metal object using laser comprises: a step(120) of setting values of control variables including power, frequency, scanning rate and hatching distance of laser beams such that a hologram or color can be exhibited from predetermined patterns marked on the metal object; and steps(130,140) of irradiating the laser beams onto the surface of the metal object while scanning the metal object according to the set values of the control variables such that hatching type irregularities are formed on an area of the metal object on which the patterns are to be marked, wherein the power of the laser beams is set to 10 to 10.4 W, the frequency of the laser beams is set to 70 to 72 kHz, the scanning rate of the laser beams is set to 200 mm/s, and the hatching distance of the laser beams is set to 0.03 mm in the control variables such that the hologram can be exhibited from the patterns.
