A backlight assembly and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) apparatus having the same are provided to fasten the fastening unit of a lamp fixing member to a container while closely adhering the lamp fixing member, a reflecting plate, and the container to each other, thereby preventing the flow of the lamp fixing member. A backlight assembly comprises the followings: a plurality of lamps which are arranged to each other in parallel and generate light; a container which houses the lamps; a reflecting plate which adheres closely to the upper part of the container; and a lamp fixing member(500) including a body(510) which adheres closely to the upper part of the reflecting plate, a lamp fixing unit(520) which is formed in the upper part of the body and fixes the lamps, a fastening unit(530) which is formed in the lower part of the body and fastened to the container, and a slit of which a part is opened while covering the fastening unit.
