<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device having reduced rotating torque while securing the performance of sealing mud water particularly during high speed rotation. <P>SOLUTION: The sealing device comprises a seal body 2 fitted to an inside member 12 as a rotating side member and having a main lip 7 and a side lip 8, and a side plate part 3 consisting of a large diameter cylindrical portion 10a fitted to an outside member 13 as a fixed side member, an annular plate portion 10b, and a small diameter cylindrical portion 10c. The main lip 7 is set to be slidably put in close contact with the small diameter cylindrical portion 10c with a contact load thereon during stop or low speed rotation, and to be opened radially outward with centrifugal force to reduce the contact load on the small diameter cylindrical portion 10c during high speed rotation. The side lip 8 which is provided radially outside of the main lip 7 is set to be slidably put in close contact with the annular plate portion 10b with interference during stop or low/high speed rotation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
