A PCR primer is provided to diagnose Salmonella spp. infection rapidly by amplifying a gene specific to the Salmonella spp., thereby efficiently detecting food poisoning causing bacteria and detecting food contamination degree therefrom. A primer for detecting Salmonella spp. comprises at least one primer pair selected from the group consisting of a primer pair consisting of a primer of SEQ ID : NO. 15 and a primer of SEQ ID : NO. 38 and a primer pair consisting of the primer of SEQ ID : NO. 15 and a primer of SEQ ID : NO. 39. A method for detecting the Salmonella spp. comprises a step of detecting the Salmonella spp. through multiplex PCR using the primer. A kit for detecting the Salmonella spp. comprises the primer for detecting the Salmonella spp., a reaction buffer solution, dNTP and Taq DNA polymerase.
