PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene composition high in rigidity and excellent in heat resistance and abrasion resistance as high in the melting point and exhibiting high crystallinity.SOLUTION: There is provided an ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene composition containing 100 pts.wt. of (A) an ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene having inherent viscosity ([η]) measured in decalin at 135°C of 10 dL/g to 80 dL/g and 0.1 pts.wt. to 30 pts.wt. of (B) polyethylene having weight average molecular weight of 500,000, where the highest melting point (Tm) of melting points of 1st scan when heating from 0°C to 230°C at a temperature rise rate of 10°C/min. by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) (1st scan) and the highest melting point (Tm) of melting points of 2nd scan when standing for 5 minutes, decreasing temperature to -20°C at temperature decrease rate of 10°C/min., standing for 5 minutes and then increasing temperature from -20°C to 230°C at temperature rise rate of 10°C/min. (2nd scan), having difference the (Tm) and the (Tm) (ΔTm=Tm-Tm) of 5°C to 30°C and tensile break induced strain of 30% to 1000%.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
