PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device capable of determining failure of a chemical heat storage device.SOLUTION: An exhaust emission control device includes a chemical heat storage device for raising a temperature of an exhaust purification catalyst. The chemical heat storage device includes a reactor having a reacting material retaining a chemical reaction medium and generating heat at a low temperature, and an adsorber having an adsorbent. A retaining amount of the adsorbent is estimated based on a temperature of the reacting material, a first pressure of the adsorber is detected when the retaining amount of the chemical reaction medium of the adsorbent estimated is smaller than a first retaining amount determination value, a second pressure of the adsorber is detected when the retaining amount of the chemical reaction medium of the adsorbent estimated is larger than a second retaining amount determination value, and failure of the chemical heat storage device is determined based on the first pressure and the second pressure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
