Integrated banana transport system from the banana plantation to the retail point of sale. The system consists of twelve baskets and a wagon. A bunch of bananas is placed on each basket. The basket can be used at all stages of harvesting, washing, processing, storage, transportation and final disposal. The contact with the bananas, which causes an aesthetic degradation of the product, is minimised. The bunch of bananas is placed on the basket. The upper part of the stalk is nailed on the nail (1) of the hanger (2), while the lower part is placed on the embossed area of the basket's base (3). Beams are placed at the corners of the wagon's base where the rack is attached at the desired height. Six baskets are placed at the bottom of the wagon's base and six on the rack. The basket and the wagon can be assembled and disassembled by hand without any need of tools. The disassembled system occupies minimal space, making less expensive the return to the plantation. |

Twelve autonomous stands (baskets) where one bunch of bananas can be placed on each one, A wagon with wheels where the baskets are placed on, characterised in that the basket consists of two parts; the upper-hanger (1,2) and the lower-base (3, 4, 5, 6), the distance between the ends of the hanger (2) is equal to the distance of the columns (6) of the base, the cross section of the ends of the hanger (2) is slightly different from the cross section of the columns (6) of the base, in order to fit and be secured one to other, allowing their slipping along the length of the column (6) of the base and resulting in the change of the height of the basket, hence basket can adjust to the height of any bunch of bananas, the basket has a reverse “U” hanger (2) with a nail (1) attached in the middle of the horizontal part of the hanger (2) where the stalk of the bunch of banana is nailed on the nail (1), the base (3) of the basket, has at least an embossing area (4) so that the lower part of the stalk of the bunch can be placed on the embossed area not allowing the bunch to slip or spin on the base (3), all the parts of the system (baskets and wagon) can be assembled and disassembled by hand with no use of tool, all the wagon and basket parts can be disassembled in order to minimize the volume needed when no bunch of bananas is carried, the basket can be used “as it is” at the retail point of sale,and there is no need for change of the transportation mean for the bunch of bananas in any intermediate stage from the banana tree up to the final sale point, due to processing, packing or other needs. |
