PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device and an image forming device that enable instantaneous execution of functions and settings in connection with setting of an original document onto a platen glass.SOLUTION: An image reading device and an image forming device that have an original document feeding part 3 for opening/closing the upper face of a platen glass, an opening/closing detection sensor 26 for detecting opening of the original document feeding part 3, an original document mount position detector 71 for achieving mount position detection data by pre-scan using a scanner when closing is detected by the opening/closing detection sensor 26 after the opening of the original document feeding part 3 is detected, and detecting the mount position of the original document mounted on the platen glass on the basis of the achieved mount position detection data, a storage part 9 for storing stringing operation information for associating the mount position and the function, and a stringing operation execution part 72 for accepting the function corresponding to the mount position detected by the original document mount position detector 71 on the basis of the stringing operation information, and executing the selected function.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
