PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device that can detect the amount of developer with appropriate accuracy while maintaining usability.SOLUTION: In a developing device 140, a developing part 141 includes a developing container 141a that stores toner, and provides the toner in the developing container 141a to photoreceptors 71K, 71M, 71C, and 71Y on which electrostatic latent images are formed according to image data to form a toner image. In the developing device 140, when a developer amount detection part 142 detects the amount of toner in the developing container 141a of the developing part 141 for every detection period, a requirement accuracy determination part 144 determines the accuracy in requirement required as the accuracy in detection of the amount of toner by the developer amount detection part 142, and a detection number setting part 143 sets the number of times of detection on the basis of the accuracy in requirement.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
