PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering control device that can detect short circuit failure of a current sensor for detecting a motor current without using a detection value obtained by a torque sensor.SOLUTION: An electric power steering control device includes: target current determination means 51a for determining a target current of a motor in accordance with steering torque; target current limiting means 51b for limiting the target current; motor control means 51c for controlling the motor by performing PWM drive of a motor drive circuit 53 so that the current detected by motor current detection means 54 follows the limited target current; and failure detection means 51d for detecting failure of the motor current detection means. The target current limiting means 51b limits the target current so that a duty ratio of the PWM drive reaches a predetermined ratio or lower when the motor current detection means 54 is normal, and the failure detection means 51d detects the failure of the motor current detection means 54 when the duty ratio exceeds the predetermined ratio. |
