The invention relates to a treatment system (1) for plastic material, comprising a feeding device (4), a treatment unit (2), and a plasticizing device (3) arranged downstream thereof. The treatment unit (2) has a comminuting device (5) and a conveying device (6) which are received in a housing (7). An outlet opening (10) is arranged in an end region of a conveying section (8) of the conveying device (6). The plasticizing device (3) has an extruder screw (11) which is received in an extruder housing (12). The extruder housing (12) is equipped with a filling opening (15) which is arranged so as to directly adjoin the outlet opening (10) arranged in the housing (7). In the region of the outlet opening (10), the conveying device (6) has a circulating direction which runs in the opposite direction of the conveying direction of the extruder screw (11).
