PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve water resistance and light resistance of a formed image and to particularly adapt to ink jet recording by blending a polymer containing a quaternary imidazolium base and a quaternary cationic base except the quaternary imidazolium base with an ink receptive layer of a recording material. SOLUTION: The recording material is formed by laminating an ink receptive layer containing a polymer having a quaternary imidazolium base and a quaternary cationic base except the quaternary imidazolium base on a support. As the polymer containing the quaternary imidazolium base and the quaternary cationic base except the quaternary imidazolium base, a polymer represented by the formula (wherein A+ represents an imidazolium ion, R1 represents 2-4C alkylene group, R2, R3 represents each 1-5C alkyl group, R4 represents 1-18C alkyl group, arylalkyl group), (n) is an integer of 1 to 5, and X is paired ions) is suitable. |
